Delivering Results for Our Schools: $405,000 Secured Through State Advocacy

Advocacy matters—and results matter even more.

Following my participation in MASC Day on the Hill 2026 on March 30, I’m proud to share that our district schools have been awarded $405,000 in funding through a supplemental amendment to the FY26 state budget.

These funds are the direct result of conversations, relationships, and persistent advocacy on behalf of our students, educators, and community.

This funding includes:

$125,000 from State Representative Mark Sylvia

$55,000 from State Senator Mark Montigny

$25,000 from State Senator Kelly Dooner

$200,000 from State Senator Mike Rodrigues

Each of these investments reflects strong partnerships with our legislative delegation and a shared commitment to supporting public education.

This isn’t a one-time success—it’s part of a broader track record. During my tenure on the School Committee, I’ve worked consistently with our state partners to bring resources back to our community. That work has resulted in:

$750,000 secured in 2022 from former State Representative Bill Straus

$30,000 secured in 2025 from State Representative Mark Sylvia and State Senator Mark Rodrigues

And now, $405,000 secured for FY26

That’s a total of $1,185,000 delivered for our schools.

These are not abstract numbers—they represent real investments in our students’ learning environments, our educators’ ability to teach effectively, and our district’s capacity to meet growing needs.

At Day on the Hill, I advocated for critical priorities including:

Fully funding Chapter 70 to reflect inflation

Increasing per-pupil aid

Expanding support for special education costs

Creating reserve funds for regional districts

And securing targeted investments for infrastructure needs

These conversations matter. But what matters most is turning those conversations into results—and that’s exactly what this funding represents.

As I continue my work on the School Committee and as a candidate for Select Board, I remain committed to bringing this same approach: building relationships, advocating effectively, and delivering tangible results for our community.
